The club holds a 5 km race series in Killarney National Park in January and February every year.
This idyllic spot is a perfect location for a 5 km race as the route is located within the grounds of the National Park itself.
There are four races in the series with the prizes being given out at the final event.
2018 Series…11am each Saturday…3rd, 10th, 17th & 24th February.
Race HQ is at the Old Monastery on Port Road.
This is the provisional 5k course but it may change due to localised flooding in parts of the park….
The 5k race has been accurately measured by Jones Counter. The series also has an Athletics Ireland permit.
Our ever popular 5K road race is on each Saturday in February 2018 in the Demense at 11.00 am, Registration in the Old Monastry from 9.45 am. The dates are Feb 3rd, Feb 10th, Feb 17th & Feb 24th.
Our 5K series is starting on the 3rd February with the final race and prize giving on the 24th. Entry Fee is €7.00 and €5.00 for Juveniles and students. Once off offer on February 3rd only – pay for all four races €25 or €15 for Juveniles and students.
Race will start at 11 sharp. Allow at least 15 minutes to get to start line. Registration opens from 9:45, same venue as last year.
Prizes…To qualify for a prize, you must complete at least three out of the four races. After the 4th and final race, there will be refreshments and the series prizes will be given out. There are a substantial number of prizes which are in the form of vouchers for local retail outlets in Killarney. One prize per person. In the event that someone wins a top 10 prize and a category prize then they will win the prize of greater value.
